At first I thought the price was steep, but bought it anyway and WOW! Red eye is a thing of the past, the range and zoom are excellent, and no more noisy indoor photos in low light. I don't think I've actually used my camera's built-in flash in months. If you have a Canon camera that has a hot shoe, you can control all the flash's functions and access the custom feature menus from your camera making it very easy to use. Even the high-speed sync works great, but at diminished range (to be expected). I used 4 AA rechargeable batteries, and get a LOT of flashes out of a single charge. Comes with a great storage bag too. Well worth it, and will last for years.Get more detail about Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash for Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras.
